There are currently more than 10.5 million people imprisoned across the world and since the year 2000, the global prison population has been rising faster than the growth of the world's general population.*

Overburdened criminal justice systems have led to overcrowding, inhumane conditions and long-term damaging effects for individuals, their families and society. Sentences are often disproportionate and prison becomes a damaging, rather than a rehabilitative experience.

Justice Focus works to highlight the realities of justice systems across the world - often hidden from public consciousness.
